Amazon Image Resizer (2000 × 2000)

Amazon's main product image must sit on a pure white background, and Amazon recommends at least 1600px on the longest side so the zoom feature works — 2000 × 2000 is the safe choice. Drop your photos below to resize, pad and compress them in one pass.

Amazon's image rules, in plain terms

Amazon is stricter than most marketplaces. The main image must have a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product should fill roughly 85% of the frame, and there should be no props, text, logos or watermarks on the main shot. Images at least 1600px on the longest side unlock the zoom feature — 2000 × 2000 is the recommended square canvas.

This tool handles the geometry: it scales your photo, centers it, and fills the rest of the frame with pure white (#ffffff is the default padding colour). It cannot remove a busy background for you — that needs background-removal tooling — but if you shoot on a lightbox or a white sheet, padding to pure white is all you need.

Amazon accepts JPG, PNG, GIF and TIFF up to 10 MB, but smaller files upload faster and listings load quicker — keep the 1 MB target on. Every Amazon preset here pads onto pure white by default; if you are preparing secondary images (lifestyle or detail shots) where the background does not need to be white, switch the mode to Crop or pick your own padding colour.

Frequently asked questions

What size should Amazon product images be?

Amazon recommends at least 1600px on the longest side so zoom works, and 2000 × 2000 for the main image is a safe standard. Files up to 10 MB are accepted, though keeping them under 1 MB keeps listings fast.

Why is my image rejected for “not on a pure white background”?

Amazon checks the main image's background. Off-white, grey or shadows can trigger a rejection. Shoot on a white surface, then pad onto pure white (#ffffff) at 2000 × 2000.

Can I prepare secondary images too?

Yes — secondary images have the same size guidance but the background rules are relaxed. Switch the fit mode to Crop if you would rather fill the frame.
